Why Aren't We All Bill Gates? Rethinking Hard Work and Fate

  Is Our Future Truly in Our Hands, or Is It All Destiny?

 We've all heard the empowering words "You create your own future." Many of us even believe it, striving daily to carve out the life we envision. But let's be honest, is life really that simple? If sheer hard work were the magic bullet, why do countless laborers and rag pickers, who toil endlessly, remain trapped in poverty? No one works harder than they do.

And if it's about skills or education, why are so many highly qualified doctors, engineers, and other professionals unemployed or struggling financially? Their expertise, supposedly the key to success, often doesn't guarantee prosperity.

Perhaps it's not about how much or how "smart" we work at all. It's all ultimately about destiny? If something is truly meant for you, if it's written in your fate by God,  you'll get it. But if it's not, then no amount of relentless effort, no brilliant strategy, will bring it to fruition.

Think about your own life. How often do things truly go exactly as you planned? Can you genuinely control someone else's behavior, or even dictate the outcome of every situation you face? The answer, more often than not, is no. We’re all striving, working day and night in our own ways. So why aren't we all Bill Gates or Steve Jobs?

This isn't to say effort is meaningless. By all means, work hard, try to pursue your goals, and give your best. But perhaps we need to release the illusion that we, and we alone, can singularly create our future. No one truly can. In the grand scheme of things, only God holds the pen that writes our ultimate story.
